About the role#
As a Risk and Compliance Intern at Northern Trust, you will join a ten-week program designed to support early career development. You will work directly with your team on day-to-day tasks, participate in professional development workshops, and engage in mentorship opportunities. This role offers exposure to global financial operations and provides a foundation for potential future career paths within our Analyst Development Program.
What you'll do#
- Compile and present summaries of findings, insights, and recommendations.
- Analyze risk, control, and operational data to build reporting, dashboards, and metrics.
- Support project teams in the implementation of risk frameworks, governance processes, and regulatory initiatives.
- Use data analytics, automation, and other technologies to improve risk management processes.
- Partner with business and control stakeholders to identify process improvements.
- Develop professional skills through project work and business unit engagement.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Understanding of risk and compliance principles.
- Interest in financial markets and the financial services industry.
- Proven analytical, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through projects or extracurriculars.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective time management.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
