About the role#
Greenlight is seeking a Legal & Compliance Intern for the 2026-2027 school year. This role provides hands-on experience with the regulatory and operational side of fintech. You will work alongside attorneys and compliance professionals to ensure the company follows applicable laws and internal standards. This position is ideal for undergraduate or law school students interested in fintech law, regulatory compliance, or corporate legal operations.
What you'll do#
- Research emerging legal and regulatory developments in fintech and summarize your findings for the team.
- Organize, maintain, and archive company policies and procedures to ensure they remain current and accessible.
- Compile and analyze data to create reports identifying trends that may carry legal or compliance implications.
- Test internal systems and workflows to verify that compliance controls function as intended.
- Document and report any identified issues or gaps.
- Review marketing and advertising materials for regulatory compliance before distribution.
- Partner with internal teams on compliance-related questions and initiatives.
- Assist with additional legal tasks and special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Legal Studies, Political Science, Business, Finance, or a related field. J.D. candidates are welcome.
- Strong research and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with document management systems.
- An interest in fintech, financial regulation, or consumer protection law.
- Prior internship or coursework in compliance or legal research is helpful but not required.

- This is a paid, full-time internship.
