About the role#
This co-op position supports the US Vaccine R&D Site Operations team in Waltham, Massachusetts. You will work alongside Site Management Operations Leads to assist with daily site activities, operational initiatives, and cross-functional projects. This role provides hands-on experience in a GxP-regulated environment for students pursuing careers in pharmaceutical or biotech operations, engineering, and related fields.
What you'll do#
- Assist with tracking and coordinating ongoing site activities, action items, and deliverables.
- Prepare and maintain operational dashboards, metrics, and KPI reports.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Draft, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process maps.
- Support site improvement initiatives, capital projects, and operational change management by tracking milestones, timelines, and resource needs.
- Assist with equipment maintenance scheduling, asset management, and facility compliance documentation.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with R&D, Engineering, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs teams.
- Help plan and execute site events, town halls, and operational reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Environmental Health & Safety.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for future sponsorship.
- Ability to relocate to the office location and work 40 hours per week for the duration of the term.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Prior experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau and project management platforms like Smartsheet or MS Project is a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
