About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring a Safety Intern for the Winter 2027 term in Nashville, Tennessee. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position. You will work under the direction of a supervisor to support safety and loss control efforts across project sites or within the office.
What you'll do#
- Help implement the Building L.I.F.E. (Living Injury Free Everyday) and project-specific safety programs.
- Conduct jobsite and work area inspections, including the development of inspection summaries.
- Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices, focusing on hazards to life or property.
- Coordinate and facilitate safety committee meetings, preplanning sessions, and tool box meetings.
- Manage safety records, including Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task plans, incident investigations, and OSHA 300 logs.
- Oversee the administration of drug screening programs based on company and client requirements.
- Run worker orientation programs for new employees and track participation.
- Review subcontractor safety programs for policy compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.
- Ability to maintain accurate safety documentation and incident records.
- Capacity to recognize safety violations and unsafe work practices.
- Ability to assist with the implementation of Building L.I.F.E. safety programs.
