About the role#
As a Data Science Intern on the Simulation Optimization and Reinforcement Learning team, you will design, build, and test production AI systems that power business workflows. You will operate with significant scope, working on real business problems that ship to production. You will train as a forward-deployed data scientist, working alongside experienced engineers and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into working AI systems.
What you'll do#
- Frame business problems and build models to support shipping them into daily business workflows.
- Assist in building predictive models, experimentation frameworks, optimization, and reinforcement learning systems.
- Contribute to production LLM applications including structured extraction, RAG, and conversational AI.
- Explore emerging AI techniques through prototyping and benchmarking foundation models, intelligent agents, and Graph AI.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and experiment design to measure impact.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Coursework or project experience in AI/ML, including predictive modeling, time series forecasting, experiment design, optimization, or reinforcement learning.
- Hands-on experience building LLM applications including prompt engineering, RAG, and structured output parsing.
- Proficiency in Python and data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
