About the role#
The Undergraduate Data Analytics Intern will focus on improving how data and reports are structured and documented at Heritage Research Group. You will work on Power BI dashboard development, reporting cleanup, and the creation of a data dictionary. The goal is to make data easier to access and interpret across teams. You will also gain exposure to AI/ML tools as you support modeling efforts with clean, structured data.
What you'll do#
- Build, update, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Clean up and standardize existing reporting processes for consistency.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary for datasets.
- Organize, structure, and document datasets to improve accessibility.
- Create clear user guides, documentation, and training resources.
- Support AI/ML modeling efforts with well-structured data.
- Participate in discussions on how structured data enhances AI/ML outcomes.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree, ideally as a rising senior in Data Science, Machine Learning, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience through internships, co-ops, or university research involving data or reporting tools.
- Strong proficiency with Power BI or similar data visualization platforms.
- Understanding of data structuring, metadata, and documentation best practices.
- Familiarity with databases, Excel, and reporting automation.
- Strong written communication skills for creating documentation.
- A team-oriented, self-motivated, and detail-focused approach.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts is preferred.
