About the role#
The Heritage Group is looking for a motivated intern to support our Accounting Team in Indianapolis. This role offers hands-on experience in accounting, finance, and business operations. You will work alongside accounting professionals and business partners to support daily financial processes and contribute to organizational success.
What you'll do#
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Help maintain documentation and prepare materials for audits.
- Use automation and AI tools to improve accounting efficiencies.
- Document operational accounting processes and controls.
- Build reporting functionality across Corporate Finance.
- Communicate with team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams such as Treasury, FP&A, and Tax to recommend process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Rising juniors or seniors pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work in a collaborative office environment.
- Familiarity with accounting systems, ERP software, or AI tools is preferred.
