About the role#
The Chemical Engineering Co-op works within a continuous manufacturing environment. You will support operational excellence, process optimization, and quality improvement. This position reports to the Operations team and involves working with engineers, production supervisors, and operators to enhance mill performance.
What you'll do#
- Support safe work practices and participate in safety audits or hazard assessments.
- Assist engineers and operations personnel in monitoring and optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support projects focused on increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and lowering costs.
- Troubleshoot process issues and help implement corrective actions.
- Assist with environmental, sustainability, and energy conservation initiatives.
- Conduct laboratory testing and process evaluations.
- Develop reports and recommendations based on your findings.
- Collaborate with teams across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Environmental departments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum sophomore, junior, or senior standing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
