About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern supports pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, and pharmacy leadership at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Specialty Pharmacy. This role provides exposure to both operational and clinical pharmacy environments. You will work 20 hours per week on the first shift with no on-call requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with interdisciplinary patient care rounds, medication history, counseling, and patient education.
- Support the Drug Policy Development Committee by maintaining records, developing educational memos for new drugs, and formatting clinical guidelines.
- Help manage drug information requests and provide notices regarding drug shortages.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by conducting medication use evaluations and assessing formulary compliance.
- Participate in orientation, training programs, and staff meetings to maintain professional competence.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid pharmacy intern registration recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
- Between 0 and 6 months of equivalent experience is required, with 1 to 2 years preferred.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, and communicate effectively with pharmacy staff.

- Location: UC Health Business Center, Ohio.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week, first shift.
- Compensation: $19.00 to $24.01 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
