About the role#
The Law Department at Union Pacific Railroad offers a hands-on internship for students interested in legal operations. You will support paralegals across various legal areas including labor, employment, personal injury, real estate, regulatory, and transactional matters. This position is designed for students currently enrolled in a degree program who live within commuting distance of Omaha, Nebraska.
What you'll do#
- Support paralegals with document review, fact gathering, and legal research.
- Draft legal documents and complete assigned projects.
- Organize and maintain electronic legal files and records.
- Track and process legal invoices and administrative tasks.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to follow established legal procedures.
- Assist with case management and document management tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree, with at least one year of coursework completed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively on multiple projects.
- Ability to work full-time in Omaha during the summer.
- Ability to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- The role is based at the Union Pacific Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
- This is a paid, rolling internship.
- Work is primarily on-site with some flexibility for remote work as approved by your manager.
