About the role#
As a Cyber Security Intern at United Launch Alliance, you will gain hands-on experience in the defense and space manufacturing sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals to manage risk and defend networks. This role involves shadowing operations and contributing to projects that support the business side of the aerospace industry. You will also participate in activities to build your professional network within the company.
What you'll do#
- Support incident response by investigating security incidents, documenting findings, and recommending remediation.
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of security solutions to protect infrastructure and data.
- Prepare reports and documentation to communicate security status, compliance findings, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Participate in unique assignments that support larger projects.
What you'll need#
- Completed freshman year of college by the start of the assignment.
- Actively pursuing a bachelor degree in a STEM field, specifically Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Data Science.
- Minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale.
- Plans to be enrolled in classes during the Fall Semester 2027.
- Ability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- Interest in learning endpoint protection, firewall configuration, risk management frameworks, email security, intrusion detection, user access management, SIEM, threat hunting, and digital forensics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR 22 CFR 120.62.
- Valid driver license and motorized vehicle transportation.
