About the role#
United Way Miami is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support our daily HR operations. This role provides hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, and administrative tasks. You will work directly with our team to gain a practical understanding of HR policies and professional practices. This is an unpaid internship designed for students seeking college credit.
What you'll do#
- Draft and update job descriptions, then post openings on job boards and social media.
- Screen resumes, review applications, and schedule interviews.
- Prepare welcome packages and orientation materials for new staff.
- Maintain employee records, databases, and office inventory.
- Assist with billing reconciliation and intranet updates.
- Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and employee engagement events.
- Respond to general staff inquiries regarding HR policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program, ideally in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Psychology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
