About the role#
The University Union at Sacramento State is looking for a student assistant to handle the physical setup of event spaces. You will work within a large facility that hosts a variety of campus offices, media centers, and meeting rooms. This is a part-time, temporary position that offers flexible scheduling throughout the week.
What you'll do#
- Arrange furniture and equipment in meeting and event spaces based on specific customer requests.
- Move items like tables, chairs, and portable stages between rooms and across different floors.
- Assist customers during their events to ensure their needs are met.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, emptying trash, and wiping down tables.
What you'll need#
- You must be a currently enrolled Sacramento State student. Undergraduates need at least nine units, and graduate students need at least six units.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately.
- A desire to provide helpful customer service.
- You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Shifts are available 7 days a week, ranging from 6:00 am to 3:00 am. Most shifts last 3.5 to 4 hours.
- Hours: Up to 20 hours per week during the academic year, with the possibility of up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Compensation: $16.90 per hour.
