About the role#
This position offers hands-on experience at the Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch, a fine dining establishment operated by students and faculty. You will work in either front-of-house or back-of-house roles to gain practical skills in restaurant operations, culinary arts, and guest service. This is a paid, part-time student assistant position.
What you'll do#
- Deliver professional, friendly, and efficient guest service.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and wine pairings.
- Follow service protocols and safety standards.
- Assist with restaurant setup, cleaning, and closing duties.
- Prepare and plate menu items according to recipes and standards.
- Assist with ingredient preparation and maintain kitchen organization.
- Coordinate food orders to ensure quality and timing.
- Assist chefs and culinary instructors during lunch and dinner service.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the Collins College of Hospitality Management.
- Strong interest in hospitality, food service, or restaurant management.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours during lunch and dinner service.
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to guest service excellence.

- Location: Pomona, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Hours: Up to 20 hours per week.
- Credit: Hours may be applied toward the 800-hour work experience requirement for graduation.
