About the role#
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is hiring two student assistants to support an agriculture research project. You will work under the supervision of Dr. Priti Saxena in the Department of Plant Science. This role is open to students in Agriculture, Computer Science, or Aerospace Engineering. You may be able to earn internship credit for this position if approved by your department chair or internship coordinator.
What you'll do#
- Assist with farm preparation.
- Collect plant data and perform health assessments.
- Process remote sensing data.
- Develop machine learning models and algorithms for precision farming.
- Operate aerial and ground robots.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Cal Poly Pomona graduate student in good standing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work in crop field environments for research activities.
