About the role#
The Water Quality Section is looking for a Co-Op intern to join the Water Reuse and Process Development team. You will support the operation and maintenance of the Pure Water Southern California Demonstration Plant. This is a part-time position requiring 8 to 10 hours per week during the academic term, with the possibility of increasing to 20 hours during the summer.
What you'll do#
- Provide field and laboratory support at the demonstration plant.
- Interpret process flow diagrams and verify treatment processes.
- Assist with sample collection, preparation, and water quality testing.
- Handle data entry and organize datasets.
- Conduct literature research and assist with technical report writing and editing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year program for Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Environmental Engineering.
- Sophomore, junior, or early senior standing with about two years left before graduation.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 in relevant coursework.
- A valid California Driver’s License and proof of personal automobile liability insurance.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site at the Pure Water Southern California facility in Carson, California.
- Work hours occur between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We prefer shifts to be scheduled in blocks of at least four hours.
