    About the role#

    CGRS seeks a graduating law student or recent law graduate to apply for externally funded public interest fellowships. We will work with a motivated candidate to develop proposals that align with our priority areas. These include restoring access to asylum, defending gender asylum, and setting positive legal precedents in the courts of appeals. If your fellowship application receives funding, you will join our team to work on litigation that protects asylum seekers.

    What you'll do#

    • Apply for externally funded public interest fellowships such as Equal Justice Works or law school programs.
    • Develop fellowship proposals that focus on CGRS expertise.
    • Work on litigation to protect asylum seekers.
    • Create litigation materials and strategies to assist attorneys and unrepresented individuals.

    What you'll need#

    • Status as a graduating law student or recent law graduate.
    • A high level of motivation.
    • Coursework or experience in immigration law, refugee law, or international law.

    • This position is based in our San Francisco office.
    • The role is full-time and on-site.
    • This is a paid opportunity.
