About the role#
This is a full-time paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on data engineering projects within the food distribution industry while receiving guidance from a manager and a mentor. Interns participate in learning events and deliver a final presentation to leadership. This role is a hybrid position based in Rosemont, Illinois.
What you'll do#
- Design and build large scale datasets for various consumer needs.
- Build, test, and implement efficient data pipelines.
- Ensure the consistent use of standard data structures.
- Analyze new data sources to evaluate quality, availability, and content.
- Write technical design documentation.
- Create and execute unit tests while supporting the QA team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Ability to model data for reporting and analytics.
- Experience analyzing and understanding existing processes and code.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
