About the role#
The Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) team designs and integrates systems for projects ranging from CubeSats to NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS). This internship supports the Human Lander System Program (HLSP) to assist in efforts to send humans back to the Moon. You will work alongside GN&C leads and other engineering disciplines in an office environment.
What you'll do#
- Develop, modify, and maintain software simulations, tools, and scripts.
- Create, edit, and debug software using MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape Multibody.
- Model, simulate, and analyze the dynamics and performance of launch vehicles and spacecraft.
- Analyze systems in the time and frequency domain.
- Support the verification and validation of technical products.
- Prepare and present technical reports and briefings.
- Create and review engineering and software documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS degree program in engineering, science, computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Completion of sophomore year of university studies.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and good academic standing.
- Proficiency in programming with MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape Multibody, or C/C++.
- Experience preparing, presenting, and reviewing technical reports and documentation.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with attention to detail.
- Valid Star ID or Real ID driver's license and access to an automobile.
- An ABET accredited institution is preferred.
