About the role#
Essex Middle River Veterinary Center offers an externship for veterinary students looking to gain hands-on experience in a companion-focused practice. You will work alongside a team of three veterinarians and support staff to provide quality care for pets. This role focuses on mentorship, clinical skill development, and collaboration within a supportive environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide quality care to pets throughout their lives.
- Collaborate with a team of veterinary professionals.
- Engage in mentorship and ongoing learning opportunities.
- Use in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and ultrasound equipment.
- Contribute to a supportive and uplifting clinic environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School in a VMD or DVM degree path.
- Interest in clinical skills including wellness, dentistry, and surgery.
- Willingness to learn about behavior consultations.
- Curiosity regarding specialized areas such as endoscopy and orthopedics.

- Compensation: This is a paid externship with a stipend to offset housing and travel costs.
- Eligibility: Open to students in Biology, Nursing, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Public Health, or Kinesiology programs.
