About the role#
Wildcat Construction Co., Inc. is hiring a Construction Field Engineer intern for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid position focused on heavy highway construction. You will work under supervision to support site operations, ensure safety, and help crews complete projects.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety policies and process requirements.
- Work as a team member alongside various crews to complete project tasks.
- Use hand tools and equipment to perform job duties.
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization.
- Move materials of various types and weights.
- Protect work in progress and completed work.
- Apply improved procedures to increase safety and efficiency.
- Follow instructions and perform related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
- Proficiency in mathematics.
- Strong manual and finger dexterity.
- Good near vision and extent flexibility.
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal form.
- Capacity to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Wichita, Kansas, and Topeka, Kansas.
- You must be able to travel between jobsites.
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
