About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a paid internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience by diagnosing and repairing equipment in our shop while working alongside senior technicians. This role is a rolling internship based in Bloomington, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction, and agriculture equipment.
- Learn to diagnose equipment issues through direct, hands-on work.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
- Develop mechanical skills under the mentorship of senior staff.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- A record of good grades and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as part of a team.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 60 lbs and frequent movement such as kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
- Completion of a drug test as this is a safety-sensitive position.

- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21.00 per hour.
