    About the role#

    Ziegler Caterpillar offers a paid internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience by diagnosing and repairing equipment in our shop while working alongside senior technicians. This role is a rolling internship based in Bloomington, Minnesota.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction, and agriculture equipment.
    • Learn to diagnose equipment issues through direct, hands-on work.
    • Respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
    • Develop mechanical skills under the mentorship of senior staff.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
    • A record of good grades and positive recommendations from your instructors.
    • Your own set of mechanic tools.
    • A positive attitude and a desire to work as part of a team.
    • Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 60 lbs and frequent movement such as kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
    • Completion of a drug test as this is a safety-sensitive position.

    • Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $21.00 per hour.
    • Benefits: Includes scholarship opportunities, mentorship, safety boot reimbursement, provided uniforms and PPE, and tool insurance.
