About the role#
Manitowoc Cranes is hiring Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania. You will work alongside project leaders and engineers to support design and manufacturing projects. This position offers exposure to crane design, structural fabrication, and product development processes.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering staff with basic assignments related to crane control systems.
- Participate in planning, technology research, functional design, and prototyping.
- Assist with product and component testing.
- Gain experience across application, electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and structural engineering departments.
- Observe manufacturing principles, design reviews, and quality assurance processes.
- Analyze data from tests and create technical reports.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited bachelor's degree program for Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0/4.0.
- Interest in new product development, construction equipment, and manufacturing.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably Creo.
- Basic knowledge of electrical or hydraulic schematics and test equipment.
- Understanding of engines, transmissions, gearboxes, and heating/cooling systems.
- For structural roles, knowledge of FEA programs like ANSYS is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and relevant hobbies.
