About the role#
The SOMA Student Achievement department is hiring a work study student to assist with daily office operations and student-focused initiatives. This is an on-site, paid position based at our Mesa campus. The schedule is variable, Monday through Friday.
What you'll do#
- Welcome students when they arrive at the office.
- Review, edit, and proofread various documents.
- Handle administrative tasks like making copies and event preparation.
- Schedule student success sessions.
- Act as a host for professional development events.
- Identify and suggest content for social media channels in coordination with the marketing and communications teams.
What you'll need#
- A friendly, disciplined, and self-starting attitude.
- Strong skills in grammar, composition, and organization.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (FERPA training is required after hire).
- Proficiency with social media platforms.
- Punctuality, reliability, and professional interpersonal communication.
- Ability to follow directions and pay close attention to detail.
- Current enrollment in Communications, Marketing, or Psychology is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Mesa, Arizona.
- Physical requirements: You must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. The role requires using hands to handle objects, reaching with arms, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, or bending. You must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
