About the role#
AA Metals is looking for a Sales Intern to join the Common Alloy team in Orlando. This role focuses on business-to-business sales within the aluminum and metals industry. You will gain hands-on experience in customer development, prospecting, and account reactivation while working alongside experienced Account Managers. This is an active, on-site position requiring 20 to 25 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Reconnect with dormant customers to identify new purchasing needs and regain business.
- Prospect and hunt for new customers within targeted markets.
- Conduct outbound calls and emails to existing customers to maximize account potential.
- Research prospective companies, industries, and key contacts.
- Introduce potential clients to AA Metals products and services.
- Schedule and participate in customer visits.
- Assist the sales team with outreach, quoting, and follow-up activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all prospecting and customer interactions in the CRM.
- Learn product specifications, applications, pricing, and the internal sales process.
- Participate in sales meetings and provide updates on your lead generation and outreach activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort making outbound calls and initiating conversations with new prospects.
- Confidence and professionalism when interacting with customers in person.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Willingness to learn the aluminum and metals industry.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally for customer visits as needed.
- Experience with CRM systems is a plus.
