About the role#
The EHS Intern supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety team at the Oxford Forge manufacturing plant. You will gain hands-on experience in a metal-forming environment by assisting with daily compliance, safety inspections, and documentation. This role works closely with plant leadership to promote safe work practices and support continuous improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine workplace safety inspections and observations.
- Identify and document workplace hazards and safety opportunities.
- Track corrective and preventive actions through to completion.
- Prepare materials for EHS training and maintain required records.
- Assist with incident investigations and follow-up activities.
- Support safety audits and environmental compliance recordkeeping.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets and chemical documentation.
- Monitor housekeeping, PPE usage, machine guarding, and ergonomics.
- Develop safety communications and employee awareness materials.
- Collect EHS data for reports and presentations.
- Participate in safety meetings and employee engagement activities.
