About the role#
Butterball is hiring a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Intern for a 10 to 12 week summer program in 2027. This role is based at our processing plant in Huntsville, Arkansas. You will work alongside our FSQA and Operations teams to maintain high standards for our food production processes and ensure compliance with USDA regulations and good manufacturing practices. This is a full-time, paid internship designed to provide professional development and hands-on experience in the food manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with FSQA and Operations to validate antimicrobial intervention efficacy.
- Collect data, track quality metrics, and communicate findings to the team.
- Work with laboratory staff to understand sampling and analysis procedures.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality parameters.
- Support teams to ensure manufacturing processes remain consistent and compliant.
- Record and report results as part of daily quality oversight.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, biological sciences, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Proficiency in Excel formulas to extract, organize, and report data.
- Computer skills including Word, Visio, Teams, Power BI, and SharePoint.
- Strong interpersonal and relational skills.
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including cold, hot, and wet areas.
- Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs to move product as required.
- Experience in a campus or community organization is preferred.
