About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment. Over 10 to 12 weeks, you will work at our plant in Carthage, Missouri. The program focuses on professional development and provides assignments that align with your interests in the processing and manufacturing industry. You will work on-site in a role that is safety sensitive.
What you'll do#
- Learn the details of food production operations.
- Work with our team to improve and optimize existing processes.
- Assist with quality assurance and food safety protocols.
- Build leadership skills by mentoring and guiding our first-line employees.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors, Master, or PhD program in Agri-Business, Animal Science, Food Science, Meat Science, Ag Leadership, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for your daily commute.
- Evidence of involvement in extracurricular activities and campus organizations.
- Previous work experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in a plant environment that includes cold, wet, or warm areas and requires the use of personal protective equipment and hearing protection.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
