About the role#
As a Live Operations Intern, you will spend 10 to 12 weeks gaining hands-on experience in our Goldsboro, North Carolina facility. This program introduces you to the full turkey production process, including work with breeders, feed mills, and processing plants. You will work alongside our team to support the health and well-being of our flocks while developing your professional skills in the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Conduct farm visits in the North BBN and South BBS divisions, including sites with and without birds.
- Manage and observe birds ranging from 1 to 20 weeks of age.
- Collaborate with farmers, supervisors, and internal teams.
- Process samples through laboratory work.
- Develop and conduct research projects focused on live operations.
- Work directly with live animals in a farm environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors program for Animal Science, Poultry Science, or a related field.
- An expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2030.
- A valid drivers license and reliable transportation to and from work.
- Knowledge of animal care and well-being practices.
- Ability to follow strict animal care and bio-security policies.
- Comfort working in both indoor facilities and outdoor environments across various temperatures.

- Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Work environment: You will work in offices, outdoor farms, and manufacturing plants. You must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Personal protective equipment is required in manufacturing areas.
