About the role#
As an Operations Intern at Masters Gallery Foods, you will work with the Production Operations Department to gain practical experience in food manufacturing. You will assist the team with production planning, inventory management, quality control, and process optimization. This role provides exposure to the daily operations of a manufacturing facility.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and optimize production processes to ensure efficiency and product quality.
- Support the production planning and scheduling team by helping create schedules and coordinating resources.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate bulk availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Conduct inspections and tests with the Quality Team to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Participate in meetings to discuss operational performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Analyze production data and generate reports to track Key Performance Indicators.
- Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge or interest in food manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings if required.
- Ability to travel between Plymouth and Oostburg facilities as needed.
