About the role#
The Operations - Business Process Owner Intern program provides hands-on experience within the Life organization at USAA. You will work in either the Claims Operations group or the Specialized Member Services group. Throughout the program, you will develop and optimize business process solutions while learning from experienced professionals. Interns work under direct supervision to support team members and resolve routine business problems.
What you'll do#
- Manage and sustain defined business processes using a structured approach.
- Digitize forms and documents.
- Use AI tools to review and confirm documentation.
- Conduct research and gather information to support process activities.
- Monitor the overall health of existing processes.
- Facilitate improvements in cycle times.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to lead continuous process improvement efforts.
- Assist in aligning business deliverables with current organizational needs.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Business Communications, Process Engineering, or an MBA.
- Graduation date between August 2027 and June 2028.
- Ability to graduate after August 13, 2027.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with Life Insurance and Annuities.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry.
