    About the role#

    The ACLU of Pennsylvania offers a full-time legal internship for the summer of 2027. This program focuses on civil rights litigation, including work in decarceration, police reform, and voting rights. We also offer a specific track for immigrants' rights. You will work under the guidance of a supervising staff attorney and participate in weekly networking and programming events.

    What you'll do#

    • Draft memoranda, affidavits, and motions.
    • Conduct legal and policy research.
    • Investigate the prospects of new litigation.
    • Interview clients and witnesses.
    • Attend litigation team meetings, depositions, and court proceedings.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be a current second year law student.
    • An interest in civil rights litigation is required.
    • A demonstrated commitment to racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Openness to growth and feedback.
    • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for office work.

    Location & details#

    • This role is based in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
    • The internship is hybrid, requiring two days of in-person work per week.
    • This is a paid position with funding available to support interns.
    • We ask for a ten-week commitment for this full-time role.
