About the role#
The ACLU of Pennsylvania offers a full-time legal internship for the summer of 2027. This program focuses on civil rights litigation, including work in decarceration, police reform, and voting rights. We also offer a specific track for immigrants' rights. You will work under the guidance of a supervising staff attorney and participate in weekly networking and programming events.
What you'll do#
- Draft memoranda, affidavits, and motions.
- Conduct legal and policy research.
- Investigate the prospects of new litigation.
- Interview clients and witnesses.
- Attend litigation team meetings, depositions, and court proceedings.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current second year law student.
- An interest in civil rights litigation is required.
- A demonstrated commitment to racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Openness to growth and feedback.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for office work.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- The internship is hybrid, requiring two days of in-person work per week.
- This is a paid position with funding available to support interns.
- We ask for a ten-week commitment for this full-time role.
