About the role#
International Justice Mission is seeking interns and fellows for the Investigations and Law Enforcement Development team. These positions support staff in working with local law enforcement to rescue victims and hold perpetrators accountable. This program is a volunteer opportunity that provides a monthly stipend to help cover expenses.
What you'll do#
- Write and edit reports regarding investigation activities.
- Organize and analyze data to create intelligence reports.
- Maintain department databases and files.
- Assist with operations planning, risk assessment, and risk management.
- Compile criminal intelligence to provide investigative leads to staff.
- Support the development of protocols and procedures for the department.
- Assist with case development, case management, and training documentation.
What you'll need#
- For internships, a bachelor's degree and at least one prior professional internship or significant leadership experience.
- For fellowships, a minimum of three years as a commissioned law enforcement officer.
- Fluency in Spanish is required for placements in Latin America offices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft software and Windows is strongly preferred.
- A mature orthodox Christian faith is required, as the team practices spiritual disciplines together.
Location & details#
- This role is based in the District of Columbia and operates on a hybrid basis.
- The program terms run through Summer 2027, Fall 2027, and Winter 2028.
- These positions are full-time and unpaid, though a monthly stipend is provided for expenses.
