About the role#
Activision is seeking students for a 12-week Graphics Engineering internship during the summer of 2027. This role focuses on the technical aspects of game visuals, contributing directly to our graphical code base and supporting the development of tools that enhance visual fidelity.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the graphical code base and deliver new graphical features.
- Provide ongoing pipeline support for development teams.
- Develop and refine tools to improve the visual fidelity of our games.
- Solve complex technical problems related to render architecture, systems programming, and GPU microcode.
- Work on tasks involving procedural geometry, ray tracing, and performance analysis.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Working knowledge of C++ and experience with HLSL.
- Experience working with Vulkan or DirectX 12.
- Strong knowledge of 3D Math and Linear Algebra.
- Experience with at least one game-related domain, such as graphics, networking, or embedded systems.
- Ability to work on-site for a 12-week duration starting in mid-May or mid-June 2027.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving and demonstrated learning agility.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Positions are located in Playa Vista, California, and Portland, Maine.
- This role is on-site. Relocation assistance and a living stipend are available for eligible participants.
