    About the role#

    The Engineering Technical Aide intern works with the lifecycle of technical documentation, manages engineering databases, and supports the design dataset release process. This role offers an insider look at aerospace workflows and provides a path to develop drafting skills. It serves as a starting point for future engineering intern positions.

    What you'll do#

    • Search for technical documents in relevant databases and release them into the ADS/EDS Database System.
    • Review technical documents for correct format, grammar, and syntax.
    • Create and revise project-related documents and technical documentation.
    • Initiate documents by creating issue or reference numbers.
    • Gather signatures on documents ready for release and coordinate drawing distribution.
    • Support the engineering team by providing document templates and maintaining signature forms.
    • Develop CATIA skills to eventually provide drafting support for the engineering team.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
    • Current residence in the Wichita, KS metro area.
    • Proficiency with MS Office and G-Suite.
    • Coursework or exposure to airframe design, static analysis, mechanics of materials, or a CAD application.
    • Ability to interpret technical procedures and engineering drawings.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

    Location & details#

    • This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship located in Wichita, KS.
    • The position follows a rolling term schedule.
    • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship.
