    About the role#

    Airbus is hiring engineering students for a Summer 2027 internship at our facility in Wichita, Kansas. You will join a team focused on aircraft structural design, supporting projects that range from product development to in-service support. This role involves applying technical principles to solve routine problems and contributing to the design and analysis of primary aircraft structures.

    What you'll do#

    • Support structural design activities through static analysis and fatigue and damage tolerance assessment.
    • Create design data sets, including 3D models, 2D drafts, Bills of Material, and Change Notes.
    • Perform detail part sizing, layout maturation, trade studies, and weight reduction tasks.
    • Communicate your work status, technical solutions, and ideas to your supervisor.
    • Work on both metallic and composite aircraft components.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
    • Coursework in airframe design, static analysis, mechanics of materials, or CAD applications.
    • Basic knowledge of classical and numerical stress analysis methods, such as Finite Element Analysis.
    • Proficiency with MS Office and G-Suite.
    • Ability to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

    • Location: Wichita, Kansas.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (approximately May through August).
    • Modality: Full-time, on-site.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship.
