About the role#
As a Lions Teach Student Assistant, you will work with the 13th Street Educational Partnership to support students and teachers within the Reading School District. You will be based at local schools, including Northeast Middle, 13th & Union Elementary, and 12th & Marion Elementary. This role involves in-person support, including assisting with special events or field trips when students visit the Albright College campus.
What you'll do#
- Provide tutoring and teacher assistance directly in classrooms.
- Work with individuals or small groups to improve academic skills.
- Lead enrichment activities for students.
- Support daily classroom activities under the direction of a teacher.
- Act as a mentor and role model for school-age children.
What you'll need#
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- A patient, creative, and responsible approach to working with children.
- The ability to build rapport with students and manage small groups.
- All required clearances for working with children.
- Preference is given to students majoring in Education or Psychology, as well as those with Federal Work Study eligibility or prior experience working with children.
