About the role#
This is a part-time Research and Teaching Assistant position at the Kogod School of Business. You will support faculty by balancing instructional duties with active research projects. This role is open exclusively to currently enrolled American University students.
What you'll do#
- Prepare course materials like lecture notes and assignments.
- Lead tutorials, workshops, or lab sessions.
- Answer student questions and provide academic guidance.
- Grade assignments and exams while providing feedback to students.
- Keep accurate records of attendance and grades.
- Partner with professors on research projects.
- Perform literature reviews and help with data collection and analysis.
- Assist in writing research publications and creating presentations.
- Coordinate academic events, seminars, and workshops.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an American University student.
- A strong GPA and good academic standing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Familiarity with research methods, data analysis, and literature reviews.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to manage your time, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Previous research experience is a plus.

- Location: Main Campus, Washington, DC.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Hours: Part-time, 10 hours per week.
- Pay: $18.40 per hour.
