About the role#
The Software Engineering Intern - DevOps supports the Global Software Solutions team at Allegion. You will help deploy, secure, and monitor cloud-based applications and infrastructure. Working alongside experienced engineers in an Agile environment, you will gain hands-on experience with Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools while receiving mentorship throughout the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support development teams by deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting application releases in Azure environments.
- Build and maintain automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and Terraform.
- Monitor uptime, performance, and other operational metrics to help resolve open issues.
- Collaborate with IT, Information Security, and Product Engineering teams on assigned projects.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies and contribute to team DevOps initiatives.
- Explore new cloud technologies with your mentor and share your findings with the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Coursework or project experience with a scripting or programming language such as PowerShell, Python, or Unix shell scripting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A self-motivated and curious mindset with the ability to work well in a team.
- A foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts, with Microsoft Azure experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of version control systems like Git and CI/CD concepts.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in either Carmel, Indiana, or Golden, Colorado.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship for employment visa status is not available for this position.
