About the role#
This summer internship focuses on supporting the development of embedded hardware solutions for electronic access control and security products. You will join the Advanced Development team at the Hague Road Technical Center. The role provides hands-on experience with project work, professional development, and collaboration with team members and leaders.
What you'll do#
- Define and scope requirements for hardware projects.
- Design and document architecture for modular systems.
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Use engineering tools for simulation and design analysis.
- Test and integrate hardware components into larger systems.
- Deepen your knowledge of RF design and antenna considerations.
- Learn about electronic locking systems and access control.
- Participate in peer reviews and daily team meetings.
- Gain experience with electrical tools like oscilloscopes and digital multi-meters.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technology field.
- Completion of at least one class in basic circuit theory or design.
- Demonstrated initiative and leadership ability.
- Effective time management, listening, and problem-solving techniques.
- A desire to learn and grow professionally.
- Familiarity with Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD software is preferred.
