    About the role#

    The Marketing and Communications Intern gains professional experience in media relations and digital communications. You will support initiatives across Florida, including local events like Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This role requires 10 hours per week of work. We offer a flexible schedule to accommodate school commitments.

    What you'll do#

    • Pitch stories to local news media using phone, email, and social media.
    • Follow up on pitches with reporters and editors.
    • Draft press releases, media alerts, and pitches.
    • Interview families affected by Alzheimer’s disease to develop stories.
    • Manage social media promotions and design digital collateral using Canva.
    • Analyze social media metrics to improve posting strategies.
    • Write content for blogs, newsletters, and other digital materials.
    • Support event planning and promotional efforts.

    What you'll need#

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
    • Strong writing skills with knowledge of AP Style.
    • Ability to work independently, incorporate feedback, and meet deadlines.
    • Understanding of public relations and social media principles.
    • Experience with Canva is preferred.
    • Preference is given to juniors, seniors, or recent graduates in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism.

    Location & details#

    • This is a paid, part-time, remote internship.
    • You must reside in Florida to be eligible for this position.
    • The internship is a one-year commitment with flexibility for academic breaks.
