About the role#
As a Staff Auditor intern, you will join the Internal Audit Group to help protect and improve organizational value. You will gain hands-on experience by working on operational audit projects that evaluate business processes and technology controls. This role provides an opportunity to learn our internal audit methodology while gaining insight into the American Express business model.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a team member on operational audit projects by evaluating risk and documenting processes under review.
- Research and learn about specific audit entities.
- Support leaders and senior auditors in achieving audit objectives by collaborating in a team environment.
- Implement audit tests and detail results in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Use critical thinking to assess potential business impacts and support conclusions with evidence.
- Partner with audit teams and management to understand key processes, risks, and controls.
- Build audit proficiency through professional development and strengthening data skills.
- Prepare deliverables such as audit planning checklists, work papers, and audit reports.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, information systems, data analytics, or an information technology related field.
- Employment eligibility to work in the United States without company visa sponsorship.
