    About the role#

    Ancestry is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Observability team. You will build and maintain tools that help monitor the site and resolve incidents. This role focuses on developing automated migration tools for observability platforms and contributing to infrastructure operations.

    What you'll do#

    • Contribute to the development of AI-powered code transformation tools using LLMs and agentic frameworks.
    • Build intelligent parsing and analysis engines using AI agents and Model Context Protocol tools.
    • Design and implement LLM-driven dashboard migration tools to recreate observability dashboards.
    • Develop agentic alert migration automation using AI frameworks to handle alerting policies and escalation workflows.
    • Create validation and testing frameworks to compare metrics and traces across systems.

    What you'll need#

    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong development experience in Python.
    • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants.
    • Full-stack development exposure with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks.
    • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

    Location & details#

    • This is a remote, full-time position.
    • The role is a rolling term.
