About the role#
Anchor Home is looking for a Personal Support Staff to provide care for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home setting. This role is a fit for nursing students who want hands-on experience in direct care and community-based services.
What you'll do#
- Follow the individualized Plan of Care written by the Delegating Nurse.
- Assist the Delegating Nurse in prioritizing and responding to client needs.
- Support Activities of Daily Living, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, meal support, and grooming.
- Provide mobility and transfer assistance.
- Document care provided and client responses accurately and on time.
- Assist with daily routines, light housekeeping, and maintaining a safe home environment.
- Communicate with the client to promote their dignity and independence.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
- At least one year of documented experience in caregiving for vulnerable adult populations.
- A valid driver license.
- Experience working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Current CMT certification is preferred.
