About the role#
As a Nuclear Engineering Intern at Antares, you will work directly on the design and analysis of fission microreactors. You will join the team for the summer of 2027 to contribute to reactor design efforts and help validate computational physics tools. You will be integrated into the team as a first-year junior engineer, with expectations to manage your own projects and collaborate with experts across the company.
What you'll do#
- Drive reactor design by performing nuclear engineering analyses.
- Develop and validate computational physics capabilities to evaluate reactor designs.
- Complete a long-duration project that results in a technical deliverable and presentation.
- Work cross-departmentally to solve engineering problems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program, entering your Junior or Senior year.
- Pursuing a degree in Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Prior internship experience or over one year of experience in a project team, laboratory, or research role.
- A GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Experience in a university club or organization.
- Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Location: Torrance, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site role requiring attendance five days per week.
- Status: This is a paid internship.
