About the role#
As a Student Worker for food service or catering at Lenoir-Rhyne University, you will assist with daily food preparation and service. This role helps you build customer service and operational skills in a campus setting. Please note that duties may change based on specific location needs.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and assemble food items following standard recipes.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, and steam tables.
- Serve food to guests and maintain positive interactions with customers and coworkers.
- Keep food items stocked and replenished.
- Store food properly according to established standards.
- Clean and sanitize workstations after use.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
- Protect company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Must have or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use personal protective equipment as required.
