About the role#
The Campus Events Office is hiring a Student Receptionist to act as the primary contact for the campus and public. You will assist with general administrative tasks and support the daily operations of the office. This is a year-round position that continues through winter and summer academic breaks.
What you'll do#
- Answer and screen initial telephone requests regarding scheduling.
- Assist walk-in clients and provide general information to the campus and off-campus community.
- Prepare, run, and distribute Daily Reports for building management staff.
- Maintain and file office documents.
- Sort and deliver mail.
- Help clients with minor reservations.
- Monitor supply levels and notify the manager when orders are needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an active CSULB student with at least 6 units.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Good customer service skills and the ability to interact with a variety of people.
- General knowledge of the CSULB campus.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Communications, or Human Resources.
Location & details#
- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
- Schedule: Shifts are generally 4 to 5 hours long. The office is specifically looking for availability between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Fridays. You can expect up to 12 hours of work per week.
