About the role#
As an Art Director Intern, you will join the creative department to help build campaign concepts and visual identities. You will work on presentations, social content, websites, and marketing materials. This role provides hands-on experience in design execution and art direction. You will contribute to client and agency projects, participate in brainstorms, and assist in creative reviews. The program includes a capstone project where you will pitch a proposal to internal stakeholders.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of campaign concepts and visual directions.
- Design layouts, graphics, presentations, and social content.
- Create mood boards, storyboards, and initial visual concepts.
- Collaborate with art directors, designers, and copywriters to align visuals with messaging.
- Assist with preparing creative work for internal reviews and client presentations.
- Organize project files and creative references.
- Apply design principles like typography, layout, and color to your work.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certificate in graphic design, art, media studies, communications, or a related field.
- A portfolio showing design fundamentals and visual storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
- An understanding of typography, composition, visual hierarchy, and brand systems.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, on-site internship located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- The program runs during the summer of 2027.
- Interns are expected to work 20 to 30 hours per week.
