About the role#
The EHS Intern supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety team at Avancez LLC. This role involves maintaining a safe and compliant manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience by participating in daily safety practices, environmental compliance tasks, training coordination, and incident investigations. You will work across the facility to help strengthen safety programs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Support daily environmental, health, and safety activities.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for staff and new hires.
- Conduct workplace safety observations, audits, and facility walkthroughs.
- Document findings and track corrective actions.
- Assist with incident reporting, injury investigations, and data collection for EHS reports.
- Support safety countermeasures, emergency preparedness, and evacuation drills.
- Help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety requirements.
- Participate in Safety Team meetings and track follow-up activities.
- Monitor chemical inventories, hazardous waste handling, and pollution prevention efforts.
- Support environmental reporting related to land, air, water, and ISO 14001 activities.
- Maintain EHS records, files, and training documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of EHS principles, standards, and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize information and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- A collaborative mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Previous internships or coursework in manufacturing or safety environments is a plus.
- Interest or experience in automotive manufacturing is preferred.
