About the role#
The Facilities Engineer Co-Op supports the team in the operation, maintenance, and improvement of building systems and infrastructure. You will gain hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and building automation systems. This role is designed for students pursuing a career in facilities engineering, mechanical systems, or operations support.
What you'll do#
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Conduct machinery space rounds, equipment rotation, and system monitoring.
- Assist licensed technicians with troubleshooting and repairs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Operate and monitor building systems through the Building Management System (BMS).
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, inspections, and certificates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Facilities Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to apply mechanical principles in a real-world environment.
- Capacity to follow instructions and adhere to strict safety protocols, including LOTO and PPE.
Location & details#
- Location: Beverly, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4 to February 26, 2027).
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with a travel stipend provided.
